Install
HARPA AI is a browser extension, not a CLI package. There is no npm install or terminal command. Installation is done through the browser's extension store.

Step 1: Add to Browser
Go to the Chrome Web Store (or your browser's equivalent) and add the extension:
Chrome / Brave / Edge / Opera:https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/harpa-ai/
Open https://harpa.ai/ and click ADD TO BROWSER. You will be redirected to the official extension listing for your browser.
Do NOT install HARPA from third-party CRX file downloads. The official store listing is the only safe source.
Step 2: Pin the Extension
After installation, pin HARPA AI to your browser toolbar so the icon is visible on every tab. In Chrome: click the puzzle-piece Extensions icon in the toolbar, find HARPA AI, and click the pin icon.
Step 3: Open HARPA
Click the HARPA icon in the toolbar, or press:
- Alt+A (Windows / Linux)
- Control+A (Mac)
The HARPA AI sidebar panel will open on the right side of the current tab.
Step 4: Connect an AI Provider
On first open, choose your AI connection method:

| Web Session | Use your existing ChatGPT / Gemini browser login; subject to rate limits |
Click DEFAULT next to your chosen connection to use it for all new chats.
No CLI or Local Server Required
HARPA AI has no server component to run, no Docker image, and no terminal setup. Everything runs inside the browser extension.
